Gemma and Tim and a few close friends and family travelled over from Australia to be married at the very scenic location of Ardvreck castle in the Highlands. The wedding was organised through Highland Country Weddings( wedding planners) and I had little contact with the couple before the wedding.
The first I saw of the group was at the most unusual getting ready location I have ever seen at any wedding .. the car park at the castle !
Shorts and scandals swapped for suits and ties and even Gemma got into her gorgeous dress right next to her husband to be.
Walking up the aisle with a difference ….
Its always a real treat to photograph at unique locations like the castle but equally great to see couples doing things in just their own way and as a result obviously thoroughly enjoying their wedding day.
Wishing you all the best for the rest of your trip !

A fashion shoot together with Steven Seymour, some fabulous fabric , the very lovely Adriana and Laura and, now for the technical part ….. a whole heap of lighting equipment.
The result … what I hope you would agree is some quite striking images.
My week started off with newborn baby lucy .. just 3 days old. A very chilled out and contented baby as you can tell from the first image ! A gorgeous baby and a delight to photograph.. although we musn’t forget big brother Bryden who seems to have taken naturally to his new little sister!
and finally … Bryden

Award of Merit ” Most promising Contemporary wedding ”
There must have been a fair few people looking nervously out of the window checking every hour for signs of a break in the weather (including me !), the morning of Rachel and Andy’s wedding. It seemed like winter had come to Ullapool the weekend of 12th june with grey skies and rain that looked determined to stay.
The wedding was set to take place at the very beautiful outdoor location of leckmelm gardens just outside Ullapool.
Unbelievably the weather started to clear half an hour before the ceremony and stayed clear until just as we finished taking photographs of the couple and they were heading back to the car. The same can’t be said of the midges as they were definitely hanging around in droves to watch the ceremony….
An very lovely Humanist ceremony was followed by drinks and congratulations in the gardens. Overall a really relaxed and intimate wedding which made for a great day .. just as the couple had hoped for.
I have known Rachel for a good few years now and its so nice to see her new found happiness … You make a lovely family !
When I first met Simon and Nonoko I was incredibly touched not only by their story of how they came to be standing outside Eden Court Theatre having pre wedding photographs taken by myself, but simply at their obvious delight at being together.
Despite travelling from America, dealing with lost luggage ( yes, the brides bag and no, it didnt arrive with them in time for the wedding … ) and welcoming the many guests who had a simiarly long journey, Simon and Nonoko were completely unphased and happy to enjoy the whole experince.
So a special note for brides travelling on a plane for your wedding .. not only take your wedding dress as hand luggage but also those little accessories that you have spent hours choosing to complete your look. Luckily this is exactly what Nonoko did, so the lost bag didn’t even cause a flicker of anxiousness !
An incredibly emotional and, at times funny, ceremony took place at the newly built Registry office in Inverness, attended by family and friends from all corners of the globe.
Simon and nonoko, thank you for inviting me to photograph the day which marks the start of your journey together. I suspect its also the start of incredible things in both your lives as well as many years of great music !
A couple of favourites from recent fashion shoots. The first taken near Ardvreck Castle on a decidedly stormy day with Tiril who braved the elements and was a fantastic model.

The second from a studio fashion shoot where it was great to get outdoors for a few shots. More images from indoors on this shoot soon !

On the way home from meeting up with tommorrows bride and groom I shot this image of Loch Droma which lies on the road between Inverness and Ullapool. Great stormy skies are the upside of the recent very changeable weather !

Earlier today I met up with Nonoko and Simon, whose wedding is tommorrow in Inverness. Having just flown in from America theres still lots to do for the wedding but Simon and Nonoko were happy to take a little time for some photography ..in between the showers that is !
Both Simon and Nonoko are musicians and very artistic by nature and keen to create some images with a difference . I am definitely looking forward to photographing the wedding but for now here’s soem favourites from today

An interesting day today and lots of fun in the studio shooting some fashion images fellow photographer Steven Seymour and our fantastic model Laura. This was just a test shoot for the real thing in a couple of weeks time but nevertheless we captured some great images and here’s a few of my favourites from the day.
